Getting a Quote (useful information)
Our team can normally advise you of a quotation over the phone but may suggest that a visit may be the best solution in order to provide you with a more accurate quotation.
To help us provide you with a quotation try answering these questions;
What is the size of your current property?
(eg. 1 Bed Flat / 3 Bed House)
Size isn't everything. A one bedroom flat on the sixth floor with a single lift and limited parking can take just as long as a two bedroom house move. This information helps to avoid unforeseen costs due to additional time.
What is the access like to both your current property and new property?
(eg. private drive / limited parking)
Can the removals team park close to the property without needing to move the vehicle every ten minutes. These new apartments are lovely in Jersey but boy do some have long corridors to carry your belongings. All adds time to the job.
What furniture are you taking and does it need to be dismantled?
We will happily dismantle most items of furniture for you if you are unable to. Furniture such as beds for instance can take a bit of time to dismantle and rebuild which adds to the time. You can keep the costs down if you are happy to do this yourself.
Do you need us to pack your belongings?
We can offer as much or as little packing assistance as you require. Paintings, crockery, glassware, ornaments, you name it, we can pack it.
Would you need some packing materials?
We can supply all of your packaging materials needed including wardrobe cartons, large and small packing boxes, paper, tape and crates. Links to material purchases coming soon. Crates are available to hire through our website, see the crate hire tab above for more information.
Are you purchasing or renting your new property?
(will you have the keys?)
Due to Jersey Property court times, purchases take place from 2pm on a Friday afternoon only. This means if everything goes through court you will only have access from 3pm on the Friday. There are inherent risks of packing prior to the court time if you are part of chain and someone pulls out. We have 9 vehicles for removals in our fleet meaning that if required, we can load a property of any size ready for unloading if you have the keys to your new property. Rentals or Share Transfers do not have this problem.
When are you looking to move?
At Good Moves, we tend to get booked up for weekends weeks in advance. As soon as you have a proposed date, check removal availability. If you are part of a chain, there will be other people looking to move at the same time so bear this in mind and don't leave it too late.

Our sturdy cardboard boxes are ideal for your home move, at extremely competitive prices. Or why not try our lidded packing crates. They are all made from recycled materials and available to hire, meaning you won't have to try and find someone to take your used cardboard boxes away, we arrange a collection date and get everything out of your way.

Our 52 Litre lidded crates are perfect for home moves or personal office crates. Smaller and easier to manage, they stack safely, increasing your load capacity when moving. They are also suitable for document transportation when combined with our tamper evident seals (TES), ensuring security at all times.
All of our crates are made from durable, recycled plastic and ensure your contents are protected throughout your move.
